The Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) honored Philip Lai with a community service award at its annual Emergency Fund Coalition (EFC) Luncheon on Friday, June 1. Philip serves as director Coffee Cup, a branch of Philadelphia Senior Center, and will be recognized for his long history of advocacy for and service to Asian seniors.
An alliance of organizations of which NewCourtland and Philadelphia Senior Center are members, EFC coordinates fund-raising and collectively provides emergency assistance to low-income older adults in the form of emergency grants for basic human needs such as fuel in winter, food, shelter, and medical supplies and prescriptions.
